Weather in Florida - When is the Best Time to Visit Central Florida?
If you are thinking about taking a vacation to Orlando Florida, you will want to pay attention to the weather in Florida and make your decision based on the best time to plan your trip. Of course, if you have kids in school and you are forced to take your vacation in the summer or another time when the kids are out of school, you will not have the luxury of picking and choosing your time. That is unfortunate because the very best time to visit is definitely not during the summer when the kids are out of school unless you enjoy melting.
So when exactly is the right timeframe to pack your bags to head to the Sunshine State? Well, I have lived here since 1971 and although that does not really make me an expert, it makes me a person with a lot of experience with Florida weather. I think you would agree with that.
First, I would avoid the summer months of June, July, and August if at all possible unless you are going to be staying at the beach. You'll still be hot there but it will be nice and breezy on the beach and it will be pleasant...sort of. Unfortunately the water is pretty warm during those months and there are, you know, things swimming in the ocean that could bother you. Can you tell I'm not the biggest fan of swimming in the ocean? I love the beach, don't get me wrong, I'd just rather actually swim in a pool. I do enjoy walking along the beach in the water though, and that does cool you off a bit.
Oh and another thing about the summer months is the fact that all the kids are on holiday so everything is super crowded. That really has nothing to do with the weather in Florida but just the fact that if you don't like to wait in lines that are 2 miles long everywhere you go, you should avoid arriving during this time.
Other than the middle of the summertime, you can safely visit any other time and expect nice weather. The very best weather, in my opinion, is going to be from around late October/early November to around April or May. To be safe I would say April, with the most excellent time frame being November to March. The winter in Central Florida is grand, and it makes struggling through the summers worthwhile.
