How to Enjoy a Working Holiday with a Tier 1 UK Visa
There are few times in your life when you will have the flexibility and lack of attachments whereby you can actually travel and work abroad. By the time most of us get out of our twenties, those days are over. But, if you have a little money in the bank, a Bachelor's degree under your belt, and you are a citizen of one of the Commonwealth countries, then a Tier 1 UK visa will allow you to travel throughout the United Kingdom, working at the job of your choice.
Unlike previous visa programs that required people to get a sponsor and have a job lined up before they arrive in the UK, the Tier 1 UK visa is much more flexible. You don't need to have a job ready for you, and you can work for any number of companies while you are in the UK. You can choose to spend your entire two year stay in one town, or you can travel the extensive railroad system of England, Scotland, and Wales and work wherever you land.
The Tier 1 UK visa is easy to get, requiring only that you have a certain amount of funds in the bank in your name, that you are English speaking and can pass a competency test, and that you have a degree. Once you have submitted the application and taken the required biometric scan, you will be free to travel throughout the United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland) at will.
You will find that by having the legal right to work in the country, finding a job is somewhat easy, whether you are interested in temp work, a long-term full-time job, or just spending time working in a pub. You will have the time of your life during your stay in the UK, and if you really love it, you can extend your stay for up to three more years.
