Do You Qualify For A Nurse Work Visa?
Do You Qualify for a Nurse Work Visa?
Every year, the United States of America issues hundreds of thousands of working visas, green cards and citizenships to a wide array of people originating from a wide array of countries. Many of these people will be coming to America to be with family, others perhaps for employment reasons. One of the most valued (and hard to achieve) forms of working visa in the United States is the Nurse Work Visa, also known as the H1C visa.
The United States government only issues 500 of these visas per year. The H1C visa is offered to people on the condition that they perform medical work in an area which has a lack thereof. So, a doctor will probably be eligible to receive the Nurse Work Visa if they are going to work in an area of the United States which has a pre-existing shortage of medical professionals. The reason for the rarity of the H1C visa is that it is only assigned to medically trained people who meet very specific criteria.
These criteria include the person having being in possession of a full license to practice nursing or medicine within the country where they received their training, or within the United States. The candidate may also have to pass a medical exam administered by their state of destination. They must also be qualified as a medical professional according to the standards set out by the United States. Finally, the person must have received a certificate from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools as well as having passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
Unlike a standard United States working visa, the Nurse Working Visa is offered exclusively to members of the medical profession. This list of prerequisites may seem heady; however to a registered nurse or doctor, these things are not quite as daunting. It should be noted that the exclusivity of the H1C visa is really a good thing. It means that the outsourced medical work brought to the US is of the highest quality. And not only that, it's used where it's needed most.
If you think you qualify for the H1C working visa, and would like to find out or need guidance in your application, it's recommended that you speak with a trained immigration specialist. They will be able to help you every step of the way, and even offer you all the forms you'll need.
