Requirements for Supporting a Fee Waiver Request When Applying for Temporary Protected Status Fact Sheet
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that manages legal immigration to the United States has application and petition fees as its primary funding resource. However in some cases where an individual is unable to pay the fee for filing applications or petitions and certain identification procedures through the biometric systems it is exempted. To benefit from the fee waiver an intimation of the evident condition of an individual being unable to pay the fees for the application or petition required.
There are certain requirements for supporting a fee waiver request that should be followed when applying for Temporary Protected Status Fact Sheet. The affidavit for the fee waiver request containing the statement "I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct" should be duly signed and dated.
The affidavit should also indicate the reasons for you being unable to pay the filing fee. All assets, such as investments, vehicles, homes, or other real estate, if any, owned, possessed or controlled by you or your dependents should be accounted for in the affidavit.
The monthly income of the individual should be identified in the affidavit be it a direct or indirect source three months earlier to the filing of the fee waiver request. Income from the dependents should also be included as indirect income.
A list of the essential expenditure for a month including the extraordinary expenses, if any, for all the three months prior three months prior to the submission of the fee waiver request should be mentioned.
Details of your dependants in the United States along with their street address and any income earned or received by them should also be mentioned in the affidavit.
Other additional information, such as your eligibility to receive federal or state means-tested public benefit like Medicaid, food and nutrition benefits [SNAP program], housing assistance, etc, or exceptions on humanitarian basis such as disability, age, and homelessness should also be mentioned in the fee waiver request.
