Types of VisaThe Malaysian Government issues three (3) types of visa to foreign nationals, stated below:
Single Entry VisaIt is issued to foreign citizens, who need a visa to enter Malaysia primarily for a social or business visit. As the name suggests, it is usually valid for a single entry. From the date of issue, it is valid for a period of 3 months.
Multiple Entry VisaIt is issued to foreign citizens, who need a visa to enter Malaysia primarily for business visit or government to government issues. From the date of issue, it is usually valid for a period within 3 to 12 months.
Transit Visa It is issued to foreign citizens, who need a visa to enter Malaysia on transit to other countries. Foreign Nationals on transit, who wouldn't leave the airport precincts and continue their flight to the next destination, do not need a transit visa.

Passport Information
U.S. Passport or passport of another nationality, must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the date of entry into the country for which VISA has been applied. If validity is less than 6 months ETS renew your passport (application fee).
U.S. citizens do not need a visa to enter Malaysia for tourism or business.
Visa requirements for non-US. citizens.
a A passport valid for at least 6 months validity remaining
a One application form, completed and signed
a 1 - passport-size photo
a A copy of your ticket or flight itinerary from your travel agency about your trip to Malaysia and a copy of your hotel / place of residence
a A copy of your alien resident card or U.S. visa
a For multiple entries, a letter requesting a multiple entry visa, reason and means of transport, including each date of entry by air, train, bus or car is necessary.
a A letter of employment verification from your current company is required
a A copy of your current passport showing your personal information and the date of expiry of passport
a A copy of your bank statement.
