Gurgaon is one of the most rapidly developing cities in India. This magnificent city is located in the northern end of Haryana. A part of mythological history is associated with the name of Gurgaon. There is a legend that the city of Gurgaon had derived its name after Dronacharya. Dronacharya was the teacher of Pandavas and Kauravas according to the great Indian epic Mahabharata. Originally, the town was named as Guru Gaon or Guru Gram that means Village of Teachers. The city of Gurgaon is situated right amidst the Aravali Hill range that is considered as the oldest hill range in the world.

The bird sanctuary is stretched over an area of about 359 acres. Initially, the park was established as a bird sanctuary in the year 1971 but in 1991, it was upgraded to National Park by the Government of Haryana.
This sanctuary is an ideal hide out for more than two hundred and fifty species of Birds. Most of them are resident while some birds migrate from countries like Afghanistan, Europe and Siberia. This is must visit attraction for the visitor who love to watch birds also for the people who are looking for a break from their routine busy life.
Damdama Lake is another great place to have fun and adventure. This lake is located ideally in between Aravalli Hills offering a great picturesque backdrop. It is the biggest natural lake in Haryana. If boating is the thing that amuses you then you have ample opportunities for the same in the lake. You can enjoy different types of boating such as Paddle, Row and Motor boating here in Damdama Lake. Along with boating, one can also go for rock climbing, camel rides, sailing, hot air ballooning and rowing.
The best time to visit Gurgaon is during spring seasons from February to April and from August to November. The summers and winters are quite uncomfortable and not favorable for tourism. The winters of the regions are very chilly while the summers bring immense heat waves.
